In Response to all of the " Blogger Blackout" hoopla that's going on, this blog will NOT be participating.
I feel that any type of stalking is unacceptable, for whatever reason.
I choose to not get involved in any drama going on at any time, and this is just another example.
as a blogger I reserve the right to not only choose the authors i review for and what books i will review, but also how i will review them.
I find it distasteful to give any book below a 3 star review. If i find i can't rate a book 3 stars or above i let either the author or the hosting blog know in advance.
I never post excerpts from a book i'm reading\reviewing while i'm reading it because i don't know how i will feel about that book when i am finished with it.
That's not to say that you shouldn't, just that i prefer not to.
If as an author you take issue with my review, i would rather you privately message me, through my blog, not my personal page as that page is reserved for my friends and family, that page is kept private for a reason. violating my privacy will not be tolerated.
I also only give my home address to authors, bloggers i trust and i trust that they would never give my address out without my prior knowledge or permission.
If you obtain my address through false pretenses and want to confront me over a review i will gladly give you the name and number of a psychiatrist that can help you with your issues.
i am not an aspiring writer, i am just a woman who loves to read, and promote authors, in order to do so i must write a review for their books.
I have never been treated poorly by an author, the same can not be said for some bloggers. However i find that the blogging community as a whole, especially Cover to cover book blog ( http://www.facebook.com/covertocoverbookblog )
have been extremely welcoming and helpful! <3 those girls!!!
Having said all of that.... I think that all authors, whether i read your books or not, are extremely brave people, who not only bust their asses to provide all of us book junkies something to read, but they also leave a piece of themselves in everything they write. They have the courage to put themselves out there to be criticized or loved, and to me that is a very brave thing to do, so to all of the authors reading this.... you rock!! an thank you for providing us with our drug of choice!
1 last thing in reference to the situation with the stalker and blogger... if as an author, you choose to write about sensitive subjects ( rape, ptsd, incest, human trafficking, abuse, kidnapping etc..) please do so with some class, have some compassion for your readers who may have been through some of these things and may be sensitive to the subject. these are not joking matters and should be taken seriously.
Thanks for reading my lil rant! <3 **MAC**
