Olivia is a broken woman, she lives her life as best she can after what happened 10 years ago, and she's doing o.k. , as long as all her safeguards stay in place she knows she have ample warning if she needs to run again. But, this time she doesn't want to run, she has Kyle, her Boss, and trusted friend.
After being requested for a specific job at work Liv gets suspicious however, with Kyle by her side she decides she can do it, until she sees HIM!What she sees stops her heart. Seeing the man and woman have totally wrecked her. It's her ex Adam, the man she's been running from, the man who had caused her to break has just taken the poorly glued together pieces of what's left of her life and bulldozed right through them again!
Abby, Adam's fiance, found out 2 weeks before they were supposed to be married what Adam had done to Libby (his pet name for Olivia). Hoping to see that maybe this Libby is doing ok for herself, Abby insists they find her and make it right before they get married.
The women form a sort of awkward and tenuous relationship at first, after some serious begging on Abby's part, but after awhile they bond and become great friends. Abby just wants what's best for Liv, and according to Abby that's Kyle!
Kyle Has been in love with Liv since the day she barged into his shop and started helping a couple on his sales floor while she waited out the rain. He has no problem waiting for her. He knows that she is hiding something about her past from him, but he's sure he's got a pretty good idea of what it is.
"When I say Liv, it isn’t your name...I’ve been telling you to live every chance I can – especially at the more stressful or anxious times. It just worked out that it could be a play on your name.” - Kyle
Liv's existence is NOT your typical love triangle, or Cinderella story! It's a book with characters that are dealing with issues that are hard for even some of the strongest women to deal with. It still has Love, and even a little steamy sex, but to me the best part of this book was the ability to watch as Liv starts to heal.
5 stars for B.L. Mooney!
